NFC Possible

So is an actual chip needed for NFC or is this something that could be achieved with a software update. Sorry, confused about this.

NFC is a chip that's inside the phone, it can't be added I don't think.

I heard something about getting micro SD cards with NFC ships embedded into it. I really do hope that's a possibility in which other phones could also take advantage of NFC.

Call me crazy, but I can't see having a brand-new technology only available on certain devices. I'm guessing it will be handled through SD card as posted above, or through a software / app / hack somehow. It's too hot not to.

You need the hardware to have NFC, so you cant just get it with some sort of software.

The SD card idea is interesting. I wounder how that would work with the Bionic with how the SD card sits behind the LTE card.
