Since Android Pay arrived in the UK, I've been keen to try it out, but I've had no luck so far and I'm beginning to suspect I have an NFC fault on my new HTC 10.
Using various apps on my old HTC One M8, I'm able to read tags from my passport and contactless bank cards, but none of these are recognised using the same apps on my HTC 10. NFC is definitely activated (ugly notification icon), all software/apps are up-to-date (100% stock, non-rooted), and for the avoidance of doubt I've removed my handset from its very slim plastic case.
Can anyone recommend a decisive way to test the NFC hardware? Is anyone else having the same issue. Given the clumsy way HTC handled preorders and delivery here in the UK I want to avoid the RMA process if at all possible.
Thanks.
