I followed the directions. Each time I plug the cable in, the touchscreen becomes useless. I cannot toggle anything. If I plug the cable in, it picks up the phone just fine, but I cannot navigate (barely if at all). I open NFL netwrok and start the stream. As soon as I plug the phone in, I get Video erro, please try again later. I have tried this app, and Real HDMI. NEITHER WORKL, no matter who's instruction I follow. HELP!!
Hmmm.
The way I do it is:
Plug in hdmi cable - a little hdmi icon pops up in notification bar, and a select app popup menu appears.
Select mirror mode - a dupe of the phones screen is now on monitor.
Go to apps, click on Xternal display app icon - a red backgrounded x icon appears in notification bar.
Start NFL app - nfl app appears on both phone and monitor.
Select video clip or live stream - it plays on both phone and monitor.
Exit nfl app normally.
Go to apps, click on Xternal display app icon again - this toggles off the Xternal display app, and the red backgrounded x icon DIS-appears in notification bar.
Unplug hdmi cable - hdmi icon disappears from notification area. Back to regular phone.
NOTE - I have opened up the notifications while the Xternal icon was in there, and Xternal was reporting an error. Tapping on that error notification either crashed off the already running Xternal app or it just normally toggled off the Xternal app.
Anyway, I don't bother with Xternal or nfl until plain old hdmi mirror mode is already working.
Never had the phone's touchscreen fail during this procedure tho.
