I keep getting messages via chrome nihtycare stating
Device may be compromised?
Turn on your antvirus now.
Firstly I have avast installed and running.
Secondly, if I click on the G logo phone tries to take me to a site called protection-now.online.
That then takes me to a link to download more antivirus software (see attached).
I don't seem to be able to get rid of it.
I have rebooted my phone a couple of times but the message just comes back after a while.
Any clues? Cheers

Those are just browser popups disguised to look like legitimate notifications, in an effort to scare you into downloading something truly malicious. They're often related to specific websites. The first thing to do is avoid any website you're on where you see these popups appear.

When you say that you get sent to that website when you tap the G logo, are you talking about some app shortcut on your homescreen? If so, that may just be a website shortcut that some adware created on your homescreen. Remove it from your homescreen (by long-pressing it, then selecting Remove or dragging it to the trashcan icon at the top of the screen). You can create a new shortcut for your browser by opening your App Drawer, long-pressing your browser icon (presumably Chrome), then dragging and dropping it back to the homescreen. Does it still redirect to that website if you tap it now?
