No “Lock Screen” option in settings - can’t remove PIN

[Android Central Question]

I have an android tablet in my car. For reasons I don’t fully understand it’s asking for a Lock Screen PIN each time I turn it on. This wasn’t the case for the last couple of years. I want to get rid of it but there are no Lock Screen options in the settings. Help !!

I was trying to get Google Maps working before and signed in with my Google account and that’s when it asked me to set up a PIN. i have removed this account but still can’t find out how to use the Lock Screen.

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet? Are you able to enter a PIN to get past the lockscreen, or are you unaware of whatever PIN it's asking for?
