No audio when Z3 docked into DK48

I have a DK48 official Sony magnetic dock. Whenever my Z3 is docked, no apps can play audio via the speakers.

I've tried several different apps (pocketcasts, TuneIn Radio, Movies) and only the native alarm app seems able to produce audio. In some (e.g. Movies), the file skips through really quickly and silently. It's weird.

I have the latest firmware and bluetooth is off; the volume is max.

I tried setting up a Dock profile in SmartConnect with the audio set to normal - no difference. Then I tried disabling SmartConnect altogether - same problem. Restarting the phone - ditto. Same phone with a different dock - same problem!

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?
