My Windows 7 laptop Chrome browser was automatically updated to the latest 64 bit version earlier this week and no longer can find my 3rd Gen Chromecast device. The same issue exist on my Pixel Slate. Both of these devices were able to find my Chromecast device last weekend.

All my Android mobile devices and cast supported apps still work with no issues. All my WiFi connected devices are on the same 5GHz network. As i stated above, everything worked fine until this week.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? TIA

I'm running Version 72.0.3626.81 (64 bit released 1-29-2019, 4 days ago) and the cast function finds my 1st gen Chromecast fine on Windows 10, so I doubt it's Chrome (unless I missed an update in the last 4 days). Nothing in the Significant Changes about Chromecast. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Chrome_version_history - the green entry near the bottom.)

Thanks for your response. I don't understand why these two devices stopped "finding" any of my Chromecast or Chromecast Audio devices. I am running the Chromecast beta firmware and wonder if this could be causing the problem. I can still cast using my Android devices, but would like everything to work.

Update:
Since the Chrome update I have been receiving error messages from my AV software regarding an invalid/expired certificate for Google Chrome. I have been dismissing the warnings with no issues. I decided to turn off the AV protection to exclude this variable. To my surprise, all my Chromecast devices reappeared in the browser. I reactivated the AV and they still appear. Very strange, but for now the problem has a temporary fix for the laptop PC. I am still trying to fix the issue on the Pixel Slate.
