No clear cache partition option - Android P?

the only option offered is wipe cache/reset. Not to mention getting to the recovery options menu sucks...

so you can now only do it through settings?

That's normal in devices that include the seamless updates/dual partition feature. These devices don't have a cache partition anymore.

Also, wiping the cache partition from recovery and clearing the cached data from the general settings are completely different processes and delete different files.
