Thanks

My unit had an app pre-loaded called "People", which appears to be the Prime's built-in Contact list. That said, how do you text from a non 3G-enabled tablet? I've never tried this.

"People" is the contacts app.

I'd also like to know how you text from the Prime...

Hmm. Came across an app called "TexTab" made by people at XDA forum; this appears to tether your Android phone + tablet together to send & receive SMS's. Wondering if this is the preferred method, would be quite handy if it works well.

Reviews seem to mention it drains battery life significantly on the phone though, and compatibility issues.. but I'd be interested to try it anyway.

If u have Google Voice u can text and voice call from ur wifi tab free. It is normally pre-installed and is an icon of a talk bubble with an old style phone receiver in it called Voice.

I use it all the time.

I use sync sms from the market to text from my wifi xoom. When your phone recieves a text it sends to xoom, then from xoom to phone and then out.

I haven't figured out Voice yet. I hear all of this stuff that you can do with it, but until i sit down and actually play with it, i can't do anything with Google Voice.
