No Contract Phone set up

Just got the Alcatel CAMEOX phone offered by AT&T. NO CONTRACT... Will only be used with Wifi. Seeking guidance for this pathway.

That depends entirely on you. What do you need, what do you prefer, etc. Everyone sets up a phone differently.

Want Wifi only for the Alcatel Android 7 "Cameox" There is a way to bypass all the other stuff as there will be no contract for this phone. Seeking guidance...

Don't put a SIM into it. Keep mobile data off. That's it.

I suspect the issue is that the phone won't let the user get past the carrier activation screen unless a SIM is inserted and activation is carried out. It's hard to believe that phone manufacturers or carriers still do that in 2018, but the bottom line is king ...

With an Alcatel? I doubt it. I'm betting on user error.
