No HD video Upload on Facebook app?

Hi everyone! I just came from a iPhone and on the Facebook app there was a setting to upload HD. I uploaded a video on my note 4 and it's really ugly and it's standard on Facebook and I know it's not the phone . On my iPhone 5s I was able to play my videos and hit the HD icon to improve the video. Am I missing something to enable this?

The videos are uploaded in HD. The Facebook app just doesn't play them back in HD. If you go to Facebook on your PC, you'll see that you have the option there to view videos uploaded from your phone in HD.

I just found it !!!!!!!
You go to GALLERY --> choose the VIDEO ---> right at the top of the screen, PRESS the SHARE VIA ---> choose Facebook ---> DONE
The point is post the video from the Gallery, not from the Facebook App

Using the Gallery has not worked for me, but the following has (on a Galaxy Note 3):

• you need to access Facebook using one of the Web Browsers in Android
• it is required to get the PC-version of the page accessed instead of the mobile version
• this has worked for me with the following address: facebook.com/about/login
• upload the video in the same manner as you would do on a PC
• your uploaded (full) HD video will then be available in HD (1280x720) format

My videos are no longer uploading in HD either. No matter what I do. But the video is in HD (I know how to work my dang phone). I have tried basically everything, uninstall, reinstall, empty cache/data, restart, blah blah blah blah blah. But as of January 1, 2016, any video I upload via the Facebook App from my Note 4 is not in HD. But if I upload the exact same file from the phone to YouTube (or anywhere else) it is in HD with no problem.

I am not a newbie. I have used the FB app hundreds of times. Uploaded countless vids from my phone. Never a problem. But now, no video is in HD once I load it through the FB app. And trying it with the phone's browser is no help either.

But the file is clearly in HD. (how do I know?) because I know how to work my effing phone.

Something is up between FB and Samsung....

I agree, I'm not a newbie either. Nothing works. I've changed settings on FB to play HD when available (setting doesn't exist on FB app on Note 4.) Now that I changed that setting, I can't play the video at all. It just spins and spins and does nothing. I've uploaded directly from the galley as well as tried attaching the video within facebook. I'm going to try the suggestion to go to FB via the web browser instead of the app and hope it works. Just tried it, didn't work. Still getting fuzzy video.

I had the same issue (suddenly! It was working before..). I decided to try the browser method, and navigated to Facebook using Chrome. I uploaded a video from there and.... It worked! So, for the future, I either have to go to Chrome and upload from there, or save my videos to my PC first and upload from the PC. Either way is a little bit of extra work, but at least I know I can still get my videos to FB in HD. *whew*.

setup: Using Facebook for Android (version 58.0.0.28.70) on Galaxy Note 5 (Android 5.1.1) = standard def!!
Using Chrome for Android (47.0.2526.83) = hi def!
Using PC Windows 7 = hi def!

having same problem with android app.
using this link on my mobile browser allowed me to upload hd:

Same here. My wife was able to upload an HD video from her Note 4 on 1/10/16 but all after that were in HD. I'm having the same issue. Uploading from the mobile browser in "desktop view" works for me.

Add Photos/Video>Choose an action>Documents>Open from>Videos.

Yeah in addition to using the above link, I had to request desktop view also.

OMG, this is so annoying, I'm about to TEAR my hair out !!!!

Facebook is how I share small videos with family, and now the quality is simply horrendous !!! So for one hour now I've been trying the trick to go through the "desktop" chrome login and upload the video directly from there...

But...while I AM logged in through chrome, while I have "desktop view" on, I do NOT get an option to upload a video...ARGH.

It has the "Add Photos" tap, but it doesn't even say "add photos/videos". Leaves the "video" out. I went through all the settings, it doesn't even have a setting that mentions photos or videos in any way.

So then I click on add photos, thinking I'll just grab the video that way...But again, it never takes me anywhere where I can even access "videos". I go to "documents". Then either photos or gallery. In the gallery the "videos" are missing . Although, if I go into the gallery through my phone directly, there is a folder for videos. It just will NOT show up in any way if I try to upload it from the facebook site.

Please help, I'm going crazy here...sigh. Added on a "screenshot" on how it won't even mention "videos" in the upload photos button...

Remove the "m." from the URL and try again.

Go into ur settings in ur chrome browser and there should be "request desktop site", check that, and remove the m in the URL and u should be good to go

I can see the option to upload hd videos on s7 edge Facebook app.

I have my s7 edge too but I don't have any option to upload HD videos..

I already enabled upload HD videos on settings but when it's already uploaded, it's low quality -.-

When you're watching a video on the FB app, tap the screen and click on the settings icon, then select "HD" to play back the video in high def. I think by default, FB plays videos in standard definition on mobile.

I have a galaxy victory and on my SHARE,it doesn't have Facebook.But it does have youtube,picasa,messagesand twitter,and also gmail.What do I do then?
