No HDMI Output on Xperia Z?

Is there no way to output content via HDMI on the Xperia Z?

The manual says that it's possible if I buy an "MHL-->HDMI adaptor", but gives no indication of where such a cable would plug-in...

Is there some sort of cradle that allows for HDMI output?

MHL HDMI out works via the USB port. Sony have one coming out soon. Check out sonymobile.com and click accessories.

You think they'd do sort of "smart" cradle, like they did with the Xperia Ion - I never owned or used an Xperia Ion (not that it was really pushed all that hard in Australia...), but my understanding was that it's "smart" cradle allowed for HDMI output, among other things...

Any idea if the current Xperia Z cradle (specifically, the "DK26 Charging Dock") offers such functionality?


Edit: Sony Mobile have updated their Web site in the last twenty-four hours or so, and the "IM750 MHL to HDMI Adapter" is now shown as available:

Now I just have to find somewhere that actually sells genuine accessories and operates from or ships to Australia, because the Sony Mobile range on the Sony Australia Web site is pathetic and genuine accessory suppliers "Down Under" are rare, particularly when you start looking beyond the "usual" accessories (chargers, cradles, etc...)...

Disappointedly, ShopAndroid.com also does not stock accessories for the Xperia Z at this time, nor does it even acknowledge its existence (I have a separate thread regarding this very issue, however).

I can't see how the DK26 can ever pass-thru HDMI signals. I guess making the phone water proof removed the option to have an exposed USB port.

Well the cable referred to above does (technically via micro USB, too)... Effectively, all they'd need to do is build the adapter above into the cradle.
