I tried to update my phone with shabbycent, but it didn't work and first the wireless & 3g stopped working, so I restarted it and it wouldn't boot up. I then went into recovery and wiped it and reset the factory settings, but removed the stock launcher that came with the phone, so now it a) either doesn't boot up at all, or b) after I wipe it again it will boot and I can use the camera, notification bar and usb storage, but other than that there is no launcher to get to anything else. Also the search button doesn't bring anything up. I installed the SDK, but adb doesn't recognize the phone when you put in the command 'adb devices'. I also tried the reinstall with ODIN, but it wouldn't recognize the phone. Any ideas on how to get it back up and running? or is there a update.zip file that I can use to reinstall with? Please any suggestions would be great! Thanks

Ok to odin the phone you will have to hold vol down camera and power till it says downloading... on the screen in yellow, if it is still not showing up in open on should be COM1 or 6 then you need to install the Latest Samsung Drivers for your version of OS if you using 32 bit os 32 bit drivers 64 bit os 64 bit drivers. also there is a new rom out that you should check out (i am using it and have not had any problems with it) i posted about it above this one. once the drivers are in and the phone is in Downloading.... on the screen ODIN should pick it up. the real master with these phones is AA51 he is the one that made the new rom and it is really good.

I am just here hoping to help some of my fellow Precedent Users

I reinstalled the usb drivers, but when I connect the phone w/ the 'downloading...' screen it doesn't see it. I am running windows XP in a VM within Ubuntu 10.04.
