No manual update?

I have rooted my Iconia a couple of months ago. I have since restored it to factory settings (I think) with a hard reset. It is still rooted but I have noticed a problem. When I go to Settings>About Tablet there is no option to manually check for update.

Anyone else have this problem? I could use some help.

As best of my knowledge, a rooted device can no longer accept OTA (over the air) updates. One of the downsides of altering the OS. Especially if you have modified the recovery which is normal for the 500/501 when people root.

Also, currently, there is no root methed for the Stock 3.2, at least the last time I looked. At least not the methods we rooted with 3.0 and 3.1. Perhaps there is now.

Considering you can flash a stock Custom Rom with 3.2HC with the stock kernel, why would you want to revert back to an Acer Rom.

If you wish to go to stock acer, then you need to run/flash the stock acer Rom. This will remove SU and your recovery. Then you should be able to get your OTA updates.
