THANK YOU LG! Thank you for not trying to hard and doing what you do best! Can't wait to see the official phone and specs not to mention a review or two. Looks like a good replacement for my G2.

If the G4 is plastic I hope that it has a much lower price tag than HTC's, Samsung's, and Apple's flagships. Especially if the processor specs are accurate. I wouldn't want to pay over $600 for it.

Agreed! because its a flagship phone I wouldn't expect nexus 5 prices, but if Verizon can sell the S6 for 599, I wouldn't want to see them charge more for the G4

I'm sure the leather-backed options will be priced around the same as the competition flagships. Plastic ones will most likely be cheaper by about $50. Just a guesstimate.

I'd say that's a reasonable pricing strategy ... can't justify charging more than the S6

I would never wants a metal back since you can't use a Qi charger. Plus any phone I get will be in a case. Just had a friend dropped his Droid last week in his wedding. Now he has a new $800 phone to pay off over the next two years plus a new case. The G4 leather sounds like a great Premium design.

Yeah Qi charging is a must since I already have a charger for my Nexus 5 and I want to be able to use it for future phones. I don't really need a premium design lol plastic like on my Nexus 5 feels good enough I mean I'll cover it with a case anyways.

What is so great about wireless charging? You still have to plug in the charger, so it may save you 2 seconds extra to plug in the phone. Plus wireless charging is way to slow compared to Qualcomm 2.0 Quick charge, so it takes much longer to charge. I don't see the benefit. It's just a gimmick the manufacturers use to get customers buy there phones with no actual benefit.:-$

Surely you jest lol. No benefit? Have to plugin the charger a whole single time?

Here is two ways I used it on my S6 before I returned it and I miss it dearly.

1. Have a QI charger at my desk at work, when I stream music all day I just lay the phone down at my desk and go for it, I move around a lot through out the day in meetings so I just grab my phone, walk away and when I come back lay it down again and keep going.

2. I keep a wireless charger bedside and regular quick charge down stairs where I normally keep my phone over night, but Thursday mornings I go into the office early, so I I use the alarm on my phone, to charge the phone over night rather than move my regular charger upstairs, I drop it on the wireless pad and let my phone wake me up as I need on that one day and it's fully charged.

For me that alone is worth the price of admission, let alone simple just random top offs here and there.

Had the S6 with its glass back and hated it because it's as slippery as a soap and super fragile.
Got the M9 with the metal back which is much much much better, though the leather back of the G4 is also very nice looking and premium, miles better than the glass back of S6

Why care about glass and metal trim, beautiful logos, carbon fiber, etc... all my phones go right into a bumper case anyway so you can't see all that expensive fluff. Give me a fast phone with a great screen, expandable memory and a swappable battery and I'll be happy and so far I am with my G4.

Seems to me to be a fine way to charge if you have the time to leave the phone on the charger especially overnight. And I don't know if it's a legitimate issue but isn't there likely to be wear and tear on the connections using wired charging. Wireless charging may potentially extend the usability of the phone's usb port and the usb cable.

Easy to solve complaints. GET ANOTHER PHONE. Really don't people research what they spend hundreds of dollars on?

That is why you gotta love the extra battery and cradle. Always take out the battery and charge it...forget ever plugging in phone or making it too hot by wireless charging ;)

That's exactly what my wife said. I said, Push button start on cars is a gimmick too, but it's cool. Same goes for wireless charging, it's friggin cool!!!!

The benefit is convenience. Some may not see it as such but .. That is why we have options. I liked it on my S6 so I could charge and then if the phone rang or someone sent me a text I could easily snag and go -- No unplug, talk, re-plug, get another call, un-plug, talk, re-plug, etc. etc. ... I could just lay it down, it charges, then I pick up and go when needed without worrying about the cord.

It is a preference thing for sure but as I said .. It is nice to have options. The slow part for wireless charging isn't a factor if you're charging every time you lay it down. Now .. if you really need some juice fast in a short amount of time then you can plug in but the times you don't you could just do what I described.

Coming from the Verizon G2 with built in wireless charging, I really miss the feature. Very easy to just place the phone on the charger and not have to worry about properly aligning the USB plug and inserting it properly... or not. Also a big convenience in the middle of the night picking the phone up off the charging pad to answer a call or text and not having to worry about pulling the cord or torquing the connector.

As for push button start on cars... I love it. Keep my Infiniti fob in my pocket, get in and hit the launch button and off I go.
