No more email notifications

I've read other people's solutions to my issue but they mainly dealt with battery pulls, restarts and tweaking of any installed task killers. I've done all the pulls and restarts I can do and I don't have any task killers installed. As of earlier today my email notifications stopped working (both the notification at the top and the tone). I've checked and double checked and even triple checked my settings and all seems to be as it was yesterday. I'm a complete newbie to Android (one day) and it's quite possible that I'm missing something. Can anyone make any suggestions that might help?

Thanks.

I don't know if it works the same way on the Evo, and I assume you're talking email (and not gmail), but I find I lose notifications on my MyTouch occasionally as well. I can usually get them working again by running through checking the settings, which on the MyTouch is two "pages". The second part checks incoming settings to the server and actually sends a little test signal through (with a running status bar). Once I let it run through that, I get my notifications back. (I haven't changed any setting entries on "page" one). If Evo email set up is the same, give it a try.

Yes, I was talking about regular mail and not Gmail. I had a friend test and Gmail notifications work just fine. I'm not sure I follow what you're saying, but believe me that I've gone through every notification setting on both the email and the main menu and I've done so multiple times. This has become rather frustrating. I appreciate the suggestions.

When you go ubto tge maul application and you go ubto accounts list and select the account you want then notifications, everything there is set up the way it needs to be right? And you are sure that the peak times settings isn't preventing you from getting your emails? These may sound like silly questions, but is usually the silly things that we forget.

I've gone through the settings a few times, please refresh my tired memory... where would I find the sync setting?

I understand that you are frustrated. It happens to the best of us. Go into settings and accounts sync. Make sure that background data is on. If this is exchange email, mail sure the account is there and checked to sync.

Yep. It's all as it should be and all is checked. Also, to the person asking what kind of mail, Yahoo and a personal POP3 account. The issue isn't getting the email, I get it all. I just don't get the notifications. Thanks for all the suggestions and help but I think I'm going to call it a night.

I'm heading out right now and won't be able to check the forum for a while, but wanted to say that I have gotten a random notification for incoming Yahoo mail and, when a sent email failed from my personal POP email account, I got the notification that the email didn't go through. All very random. Further thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks.
