No more support for Nexus 6

Support for Nexus 6 will end on Oct 2016. Which means, nexus will not be getting updates from 7.1 onwards.

What do my fellow Nexus 6 levers feel about it? Shouldn't Google follow the 4 yr support policy of Apple? IPhone 4 is just going out of support in that ecosystem.

My iphone 5s is just beginning to show signs of lag (3+ years old). Switching to the pixel, but I know i'll replace it in 2 years.

It's getting the 7.1 beta, not sure of any reason it wouldn't get 7.1. It's not getting 8.0, but it is getting monthly security updates until October 2017.

The N6 may not receive future software update support but it's still getting another year of security patches. I don't think it's that big of a deal since we'll have custom ROM support for a while.
