No Notifications

I just picked up a V20 from T-Mobile yesterday and I'm not getting anything but the basic notifications i.e., Textra and Facebook. ESPN, Alto (email), Amazon, and all the other apps don't come through and I have to go to each app and manually refresh them. I've tried updating, re-installing, and restarting the phone. I also signed in and out of each app but I have no luck. I'd really hate to have to go get another new phone as it'll be the third in a month.

Any suggestions?

Do you have some sort of battery saver app running... something that is "killing" running apps? (or maybe a misconfigured LG cleaning app)

Other than that I can't see how a whole swath of apps wouldn't show notifications.

I'm sure you know to enable/block notifications for individual apps, so I won't go through screenshots of how to do that.

I haven't rooted yet so I didn't uninstall anything but I disabled Lookout and the LG cleanup tool so I don't think anything like that is running. I have battery saver set to turn on at 15% but I'll turn that off and see what happens.

Unless the issue is with the phone's ability to sync data? I've used it on several WiFi networks and Tmo's network too so I don't think it's a connection issue.

Battery saver wouldn't do it... it just kicks in when battery hits 15%.

Let me give it some thought.

If you go into Settings, Notifications are you seeing those apps blocked? (See screenshot below for Amazon being blocked)

One more thing to look at: settings, apps, 3 dots, configure apps, special access, notification access. Any apps enabled there that you don't expect? Those apps can manage your notifications.

With my T-Mobile V20, I notice that my gmail notifications can be slow at times. My Whatsapp, Hangouts and Messenger notifications come through right away, but Gmail can be especially slow and inconsistent with the notifications. Granted, slow/inconsistent Gmail notifications have been my experience with my prior phones as well, so this issue isn't unique to my V20.

I don't have notifications blocked for any apps (just double checked) and nothing is enabled in special access. I may just need to do a reset since the phone is still new.

I couldn't find a solution and Tmo support couldn't offer anything so I'm just going to exchange it for another V20. Thanks for the suggestions.

Side note: I hope this doesn't become an issue of LG bootloop proportions :-\
