Just like the title says. I installed speedmod kernel last night with odin. Everything said it completed correctly, the phone starts up, I can get on WiFi but I have no network. Please help

Looks like that is not supported for the Fascinate my friend.

What ROM are you using?

pretty sure that is a kernel for the captivate and not the fascinate...you are gonna need to flash a new one

what ROM, modem, theme, are you running?

speedmod?? I have never heard of that kernel. I can agree with Lttlwing16... not built for the Fascinate.

You will need to flash a different kernel.. voodoo or nonvoodoo..

Wow. I cannot believe that I royally screwed up that bad. Here is the probelm. I have tried doing the CWM install to no avail, and also the DI01 Fix All to no avail. Everything I try fails in ODIN. Am I completely screwed. I can still get to the download mode so there has to be some way to fix the horrible mess I've made.

When you say the Dl01 fix all are you refering to the fix all that repartitions your phone? Use the steps in this thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ks/92337-my-phone-will-not-go-back-stock.html

About half way down the first page, Bigjobber gives the downloads and the instructions.......remember to double check what goes in the PIT and what goes in the PDA and to check the box for repartition.

If that doesn't work, I know there is a hemdall instead of odin fix out there.....not sure where though.

I got the same error when trying to download yours. "No server was specified. Please contact the system admin."

Flash stock DL09 in the PDA button and the Atlas 2.2 PIT file in the PIT button of ODIN, also look to the left of the PIT button and put a checkmark in the box for re-partition

DL09 file:

Atlas 2.2 file:

And thoroughly read what you are flashing onto your phone before you flash it, know what you are doing, understand the process before taking a step. These are the basics of rooting and flashing.

Thanks guys. I got the PIT downloaded. Getting DL09 now. Hope this works. It is my wifes phone. I was only trying to get rid of lag and now I am in the dog house. lol. My Droid X is much easier to mod.

I disagree... the fascinate is very simple to modify as long as you know you're doing and have done all the required reading and research before flashing anything

I rooted a friend's DX and flashed a leaked GB ROM. Rooting the DX was much easier, download Z4 root, let it do it's thing, done. Flashing the ROM was simple too. You just have to go through one program to get to CWM. The DX does not have as many choices or options which makes it simpler and easier. We have more options with the Fascinate, so more sets of instructions out there, which can make it confusing to someone used to a different method.

Make sure battery is out the whole time, use USB port in the back of the computer near the motherboard, disable anti-virus software, make sure you have the correct USB drivers installed

If you are on a laptop, make sure you have the laptop plugged in. ODIN issues are all about the connection between your computer and your phone.

I'VE ALSO NOTICED IN YOUR SCREENSHOT YOU DO NOT HAVE RE-PARTITION CHECKED LIKE I INSTRUCTED. LOOK DIRECTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE START BUTTON UNDER OPTION. YOU MUST HAVE THE RE-PARTITION BOX CHECKED FOR THIS TO PROPERLY REPAIR YOUR PHONE.

I got it! I'm back to Eclair. I reinstalled the sammy drivers and switched usb ports and it installed. Phone is booted and running with all services working. Now that I'm back to eclair, where do I go from here?

The whole reason I did this in the first place is cause it was on 2.2.1 and was terrbly slow and laggy. I don't want to just go back to that because I had a scare. It is my wifes phone and she dearly loves the puzzle peices unlock screen. If I could upgrade and keep that, that would be ideal.

I think she will like the community rom v1.3. Can I go straight to that or do I need to do the OTA updates and get back to 2.2.1?
