No physical keyboard?

Wha, wha, what. How is this phone going to compete with Droid? It' the same phone with no carrier. What person in their right mind is going to go with anyone other than Verizon at this point.

1. Physical Keyboard easily one of the best options on droid.
2. What more can they add - better camera? pinch to zoom?

I really don't see what the hyps is about. Maybe because they are not associated with a carrier?

I'll stick with my droid for the 2 year contract and re-assess. I certainly wouldn't wait for this to come out while sooo many others are already there.

I was messing with both the Droid and the Eris at a Verizon store and I have to say; The KB on the Droid was important to me until I tried the virtual KB on the Droid and Eris.

The KB is not really that important to me after trying one. I like the lighter feel of the Eris because there is no KB. I suppose they'll keep the real KB because some people like it but I'm past it.

In this case a physical keyboard may have added unwanted weight and thickness, and if it was anything like the Droid's half the people who bought it would complain. Besides, with a screen that big, it should be more accurate than the phone's we've seen in the past, excluding the droid.

The more keyboards become responsive and standard on phone we will really see a more inclination to have Virtual Keyboards all the time instead of the physical. It allows the phone to be skinnier and utilize the space better. If there is accuracy and speed I don't see the need for the physical.

As much as I like the soft keyboard, they have a long way to go before I feel that they are equivalent to physical keyboards.
