No PIN on unlock

I have an media pad 2 and until recently if I turned the tablet off and then back on again it would 1st ask for the pin code of my sim card and then it would ask for the pin code to unlock the tablet. Now it only asks for the tablet pin code. To unlock (and activate) the sim card I now have to go into setting and put in the sim card pin there. I don't know how things got changed but is there some way I can put it back to asking for both the sim pin and tablet unlock pin on reboot? Thanks
