Dear ______,

Thank you for your inquiry. There is no update currently for the samsung moment nor is there an estimated date of one being released. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

At this time current load is 1.5.

How Can I Get A Firmware Update On My Phone?

Samsung does not release "firmware updates" to the public. These updates are released strictly to Service Providers, who then distribute them to customers.

For more information, we recommend contacting your local Service Provider for details. Below is a list of contact information for the major Service Providers.

you really let me down samsung on this one:mad: it sounds like the moment won't even get 1.6...:(

Then Sprint should have to refund a lot of unhappy customers they promised that Google experience to. Plain and simple that's just unacceptable. With a few software upgrades the moment could be a hell of a machine.

i feel you, could you imagine if it got 2.0? it would become the flagship because in my opinion the keyboard and screen is way better than the droid. i mean i would be content with just 1.6, but now it seems no google maps nav:( so basically they just put it out there and the people that invested in it are being left in the dust and screwed over by samsung...

You're right, and it turns out there isn't an update :(

Sprint just has no idea what they're doing when it comes to Android. Most employees don't even know why we want another version, or that there are versions to it.

I just called Samsung Customer Service, and they confirmed they are indeed working on an update for the Moment that should be available early in 2010.

If that's true, then I think I'm keeping my Momen. I really like the hardware, and the Google Experience should be even better with a newer version of Android.

=)

YEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait! But I'm so happy they make it official!!! Now I can sit back, relax, wait and keep my Moment

Android 2.0 will look soooo good on AMOLED. =)

Yay indeed.

Did anyone seriously think that Sprint and Samsung would sell a phone that is pretty much THE top of the line phone in terms of hardware in the market and not give it on software updates? Come on, people!

:-)

yfan,

I spent a lot of time at the Sprint Community Forums before they announced it, and trust me... a lot of Moment owners felt left behind because other carriers/manufacturers were announcing updates for their phones, HTC announced the update for the Hero, and Samsung/Sprint were too quiet about the Moment.

I was about to return it because of the lack of communication. If it weren't because of how much I enjoy the device, I would've returned it because of the lack of communication from Sprint/Samsung. Now that the word has been said, I feel really happy, and decided to keep this nice device.

Cheers!! =)
