no recovery

i have droid runnning froyo 2.2 rooted
i'm totally new to android
downloaded rom manager from market and then downloaded bugless beast v5 followed directions to reboot into recovery
the phone shuts down and tries to reboot into recovery but gets stuck at the motorola M logo
tried manual recovery but same result
anyone out there who could please help?
i'm able to start the phone up by removing the battery and normal start the phone works fine after that.

go into the settings of Rom Manager and make sure Erase Recovery is checked. Also there should be an option at the bottom to flash an older version of clockwork.
