Morning, when using my Samsung Galaxy S III, sometimes I get a message, "com.google.process.gapps has stopped responding". Has anyone else had this issue?

Any idea on how to resolve this?

PS: this has no relation to users with Google Apps accounts, does it?

Gapps are your core Google apps. Did you load one up before the message hit?

Thanks for the response.

It seems to have come up twice, once yesterday (after running\using Flipboard) and today, after installing Twitter, and trying to get to the settings part of it.

Samsung chat support asked her to power off, remove the battery and then power on again. Thus far I've tried Flipboard and Twitter, and no error. But...

Interesting. I only ever see that (usually) when I've restored bad data when flashing a rom. Did anything crazy happen after the error, or just that alert?

I wouldn't worry about it for the next few days. If you start getting them repeatedly, then you'd have to trace back and see what rogue app is doing it. Neither Flipboard nor Twitter are "core" but they might be using core features--GPS, perhaps.

...brilliant info, thanks.

I've only seen it twice thus far, so I'll monitor for now. I don't have odd apps, only the standard ones, plus Flipboard, Twitter, Facebook, TapaTalk, Dropbox. Evernote, ING Direct, IMDB and Fandango.

If it persists, I'll reset to factory, etc.

Ordinarily I'd recommend fixing permissions, but that working on ICS is debatable at best and I quite honestly have no idea how to do that without being rooted.

It could just be that a cache built up with some bad data...

This still happens every so often and I'm really wondering if it is related to my Google Apps account. Maybe I'll switch back to the free Google for a while...

You could start clearing cache/data in core apps like gmail, contacts, etc.?
