Android Central Question

Recently had my Galaxy S7 charge port replaced, it was in the shop for a week. However there was a mix up and they ordered the wrong part (screen) and had a new screen put on my phone (that I didn't ask for) before they finally replaced the charge port. My phone is charging again but now has the following issues;

*No signal or network
connections.

*Unable to call/text

*No signal symbol (circle
with diagonal line) at top
of the screen

*When I toggle airplane mode icon it goes from dark blue to light blue instead of the usual grey

*Under SIM card status it reads Service State (Radio Off) and Mobile Network State disconnected

I tried rebooting, cleaning the SIM card etc. but nothing's working. Never had these connection issues until after they fixed on my phone. Could something be damaged?

Welcome to Android Central.

Samsung is known for having super sensitive screens. I've heard this mentioned in teardown and repair videos about Samsung devices so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mishap while tearing the device down. It sounds like they didn't hook up your antennas or something went wrong with charging port repair. It sounds odd but for some reason, and I don't believe it is just Samsung, but I've seen multiple reports of signal issues resolved by fixing the charging port. I'm not sure if it is because the antennas share a board with the port or it's a connection thing if the port isn't properly connected or why but I was surprised the first time I heard it and it was verified at least two times after I heard it.

Long story short, you paid for a service and your device came back in worse condition than what was expected, I would take it back to them and have them at least verify that the antennas are connected. I would also ask how the charging port was repaired. If it was soldered in I'd ask to see the work, just to see if it is neat and clean and all of the pins are soldered. If the board was replaced I might ask for part sourcing information to verify that the company's reputation or even just to see the reviews on the part. However it goes this is not a you problem it is a them problem. They need to make you whole as the service provider that you're paying to fix your device.
