(Sorry for the roll call in the title but I hope we can get some good discussions about this.)
I'm hoping someone can help with this issue. I dont have simultaneous voice and data on my shiny new Nexus4 on ST ATT. I can talk just fine. I can have data just fine. But I can not use data (not referring to WiFi) while talking. I have tried many APN settings without success. There are other threads that I've read below that dont have permanent solutions:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ne...424-no-simultaneous-voice-data-nexus-4-a.html
also here (lots of hits, no permanent fix):
No Simultaneous Voice and Data on AT&T - xda-developers
and here (which is especially interesting - lots of hits, no permanent fix):
Issue 40859 - android - NEXUS 4- AT&T (USA) WCDMA Preferred Device cannot maintain a data connection - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting
I live in the Wash DC / metro area and this is really annoying. Neither myself or my wife have had this issue with either of our Galaxy Nexi. She's still on ATT and I'm using mine on ST ATT now but was also using it on ATT without any issues. It appears to not be a problem with ATT. I want to keep this phone, but may give it to my mom (which i dont have a problem doing but originally intended to give her my Galaxy Nexus so I could have the N4) because I didnt realize how much multi-tasking I do while on the phone that requires the use of data (apps, maps, .. etc.) until I bought the N4. Long story even longer, I dont want to go to T-Mobile and also dont know of many choices as to how I can use this phone in the same manner that I use my Galaxy Nexus. Has someone found a fix for this. (Please dont tell me APN's because the 2nd and 3rd threads above prove that is not a permanent solution.) If you have a fix, that allows me to stay with ATT's network (thru ST), then what did you do / find.
Lastly, I spoke to ST (rather TracFone) and was told I'm not supposed to have simultaneous voice and data anyways. I explained not having an issue with the Galaxy Nexus and really dont want to rehash how that conversation went.
