With all my previous phones I felt like I was always wiping the greasy smudges off the screen. I've noticed that the GN doesn't show my finger prints. I am purposely trying to get finger prints on the screen and they are almost non existent.
Did Samsung apply a coating that resists smudges? Whatever they did it's awesome!

That is all.

Mine show, but not as bad as the Thunderbolt. Oleophobic (oil resistant) coating is usually applied to most phones and touchscreen devices.

im not here to attest to the smuges really cause i generally wipe my device clean often with my shirt if i notice anything on it...but what i have to say is

these screen for some reason just feels 1000% better under the finger than any other touchscreen ive ever used. maybe its new but i remember using swipe at first on my Droid X and sometimes when my finger would get warm, it would make it impossible to move on the screen...but here is just feels slick without feeling oily or wet

Funny. One of the reviews (engadget, I think) said this screen was the worst fingerprint magnet ever! I seems a bit better than my last phone.

The previously mentioned coating that I wont attempt to spell (No, I will not scroll up lol) is present on many phones nowadays, off the top of my head I know the iPhone has it. Unfortunetly it does wear away after some time. I dont know how long but my friends iPhone was a fingerprint magnet after about a year of use.

Its a nice little feature, almost worth buying a replacement screen when it wears off actually.

Yea I think this is the prettiest screen I've ever seen, inside and out. It just has a really nice, slick feel to it and it's almost finger print proof. A quick wipe on the sleeve and it looks like a bran new phone.

While I enjoy it's no smudge coating, the Rezound has a far nicer screen. This screen is awful grainy :( BTW I love your avatar, go Sox!

I really like the way the screen feels over all. It's light and you can tell it's glass, but the way the glass feels, it almost feels like a super durable plastic. Some may not like that feel, but to me this feels like a high quality phone.

I don't know where people get that it feels cheap and "plasticy". To me it feels like a Porsche, Ferrari, or a Lamborghini. You can tell it's a quality machine, but you aren't going to want to go out and use it in a demolition derby. If you want to be able to drop your phone from 3 stories or dunk it in water, get a Casio Commando because even the Razr wouldn't be able to handle that.

you could see exactly where i swipe for my pattern unlock after just one day... and that was one day of being very careful not to have anything on my hands whatsoever for fear of getting anything on it... so i'm surprised that people are in love with the lack of smudges.

I've noticed it's not as bad also, I had a cheap screen protector on it but took it off.

Before seeing this post, I hadn't given fingerprints a thought, like I have in the past. Soon as I read this post I looked down at my phone and what did I see...A beautiful screen with not much on it at all. I haven't cleaned it yet, but it looks great.

Guess I didn't give it a thought because they weren't showing up like they did on all my other previous phones.

Now that you all mention it, the glass is perfect. It is like jewlery perfect and smooth. On my droid X, the gorrila glass was not perfect and at angles, imperfections showed. Whaterver this fortified glass is, i want it always...

I barely have any visible fingerprints on my screen. The problem was much worse on my Evo 4G. Without any screen protector or anything the screen looks great, I haven't seen any pixels or grain. Plus I have had at least two iPhone 4S owners tell me, "this screen is beautiful and the viewing angles are ridiculous." :-)

Yeah, the screen is definitely smudge resistent. However, my Droid Inc 2 was the same way when it was new...give it a few weeks/months and it'll wear off and be a mess like every other phone. I'll just enjoy the new Nexus screen while it lasts. :)
