i picked up my phone yesterday, woke up this morning and it has completed the update already, hard to tell if anything is different since I only had it 4 hours before it updated

No noticeable change in 4 hours, give it some time, you will soon. VLA should kill your battery dead, roughly, 5 mins. from now. Sorry, I couldn't resist. I love pinching deuces on bloatware to much.

1 full day and the battery lasted about 10 hours with moderate use, same as my dinc. and maybe one day I will man up and try to root the phone, but I am tech challenged

Believe me your not as techy challenged as you think. I almost believe this as factual. Unless someones illiterate, they can root their phone. I thought it was much tougher to understand the lingo being bounced around than it was to unloxk and root my darn phone. It's harder to get over the weariness of rooting than actually doing.

I purchased my Rezound back in January and recieved the OTA update before the month was over. However, my girlfriend just received hers on Monday, and hasn't been able to update. When I try to force a manual update by going to Settings>Software Update>Check New, it just scans and gives no results. It doesn't say "no new software update available", it just scans and then nothing.

I've been searching this board, as well as Google and haven't been able to find any suggestions. I've tried battery and SIM pulls with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than rooting, counting my blessings for not finding the update, etc.? Thanks

Sorry, just amusing myself. Just to be sure it didn't OTA auto exe in sleep mode, it's happened many times before. What software # is she currently running. If worse comes to worse, if you locate the .zip update, of the last OTA, you could always throw it on her SD and unzip to install if need be. Personally, if she has no ailments on her phone otherwise, consider skipping it. Reviews of it are a very mixed bag with love/hate results. Slightly, leeaning more towards hate, though, from what I've read.

She is running 1.02.605.6, and I've been unable to locate a .zip file. I'm not so much concerned about getting *this* particular update, but more at the fact that the scan doesn't seem to be working and what that could mean for future updates that she may actually want to get.

Well, it is an odd scenario but it doesn't necessarily indicate something is askew, just b/c you got it and she hasn't had it pushed yet. This has happened countless times in the past. What do you mean by just scans, does it hang endlessly scanning til you have to manually exit out or what? Try this, go into manage applications>all> scroll down to updater, then clear data which should FC it. Then do a batt./sim pull for several minutes, don't just reinsert immediately, then go ahead anf reinsert and power up. As for a usable zip, hit up xda-devs, if it's available, it shouldn't be to hard of find over there.

I assume Verizon just decided to stop rolling out the update because so many people have had to replace their rezounds and so many complaints after the update. I thought it was a problem at first, too; but it's the only conclusion I can come up with.

I think if we get any more software upgrades we should still be able to get them. I don't see how not being able to download one will prevent us from receiving more in the future. Also, I'm most likely going to root once my 14 days are up anyways so I'm not too worried about not receiving the update.

I'm 99% sure it won't affect any future update for anyone who chooses to remain stock. Even if it did there's ways to diy the ota yourself.

I also got my Rezound in late jan and i still havent received the update....love the phone without it anyway, heard bad things about it so far...ill wait for ics
