Hello community!

I have a question for you guys. I just bought a lg g3 and it arrived yesterday with the kitkat version. I want to update it but there's one problem. When I try to update it, there is no such option. I have an LG tablet and I updated it to lollipop, but this phone doesn't have the option Update software that my tablet has. When I looked for help at the LG website it just said that I can update the phone by pressing the Update software option. But as I said, it's not there. I think that the problem may be because the phone is Chinese (I bought from Amazon but I didn't realize it was a Chinese store at the moment. Big mistake, I know) and it may have the Chinese version. I would like to change it to Spanish but I didn't want to root my phone (yet). For windows phone it can be changed but I'm new in android and I'm not sure. If you can help me with this issue please!:D

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. Did you select you language in the initial set up screen?

Yep, it's in Spanish now. I can try with a factory reset maybe because now that I think about it, it was already set to Chinese (it was in English, but with the Chinese time and date)

Hi,
Check in Settings > General Tab (for tab view) > About Phone > Hardware Information > Model Number.
Check if that is the correct model you brought. If that's correct and its D855, Can't say exact but there's a high chance that you got a refurbished phone, if possible, just return it..
Since i am one of victims of fraud like many others who recently brought new LG G3 from an online shop just bcuz it costs me less, from out of country and they sent me a refurbed phone, without box, unlike it was on ad. Although the phone was wrapped in branded sheet on screen and looks good as new and doesn't look fake at all, even benchmarks and gaming performance is same as original.. From the inside it is actually model D850 (At&t) and there's also no option to update it, even imei number everywhere is also of D855..
If you want to update to lollipop, the only option is to manually update it. If ur not into geeky android stuff, ur stuck with kitkat like me.. otherwise tot and dll that bypass phone verification is the only solution.
The reason i'm not updating is bcuz i'm gonna sell mine in local market (with loss :'( ) and buy original one.
