No updating pre-tasks?

So let me get this straight...we don't have to backup anything before hand but just apply the update and all of of our contacts, music, apps and pics will still be there???

It wouldn't be a BAD idea to keep a backup at all times JUST IN CASE, but basically, no. I just installed the update manually myself and everything transferred over just fine without any hitches. If you use the Facebook app, you'll probably have to re-enter your login information, but that's about it.
