I have looked through all of the threads and i cannot find a fix for this or if i am the only person with this problem but i cannot seam to find a way to makemy DROID vibrate when i recieve a text r pic message.... is it even possible?

I have the box checked but the phone doesn't vibrate when I receive a msg. Only when the phone rings will it vibrate. There is also a vibrate setting for receiving an email but doesn't work for that either. I only get the green notification light.

Am I the only one with this issue? If so, I'm heading back to Verizon store for exchange.

are you going to the settings IN the email or messaging app?

the universal setting is only for the phone.

if you are in the right place, try to reboot or something

I am having the same issue. I would also like one setting that will universally switch everything to vibrate or back to the default ringer. So far, this is the only thing about the Droid I dont like. Why would they make you go into to several different settings just to turn everything to vibrate?

Turn volume down until it goes into vibrate. If you go down once more you turn ALL sounds off, and if you turn it back up you are back in business.

I like the idea of being able to have SMS ring and vibrate and not have messages (emails) do the same. This way you have choices to what you want each message type do. The only thing I hope for would be different ring tones and led flashes for different messages.
If you want every message to ring and vibrate it should only take less then a minute to set up so I guess I don't see a problem.

Easy fix for Vibrate->Ring and Ring->Vibrate:

Lock your screen. Instead of unlocking by dragging left to right, drag the right (volume) icon to the left. It will switch profiles.

:)

Actually, now that I test it out it will only go to Silent and Ring. I know there are apps for going from ring->vibrate, though. Just look around the Market.

I second that... Great feature. I like my phone and sms to ring and vibrate. I dont like my email to vibrate.

I have the same issue, and not sure how to get this set up to work the way I'd like. I control the ringer volume via the rocker switch on the side. Phone vibrates on incoming calls, no issue. INSIDE the SMS, and Gmail accounts I have the "Vibrate" box checked. Yet when I have the phone in Vibrate mode, I get no vibration for SMS or Gmail. I'm sure this must be in the settings--somehow.

i want vibrate back!

same thing here - when the ringer volume is on i don't like things to vibrate, i just want the ring tone for calls/sms/mms/emails. but when i use the rocker to set it to vibrate i want ALL alerts to be vibrate...(except maybe emails...). So i was annoyed with the rocker not being able to control it and so I downloaded Ring Toggle. Worked great except that I still wanted the rocker to control it. So I uninstalled it and decided to live with it (in hopes that an update would fix it). Since then the only thing that'll vibrate is a call - even if i check the vibrate option inside of messages and email.

I have just now re-installed ring toggle...set it to 'all vibrate' and the vibrate returns...so what happens when i uninstall it...?

anyone else have problems like this?

**update: if i set ring toggle to 'ringtone only' all works...except messages says that vibrate is still checked. but there's no vibrate. so at least in my case...it seems like ring toggle is the culprit. have i forever screwed my ever-crucial-and-life-saving vibrate settings?

**update: voila...it's all back and working. i set ring toggle to 'ring and vibrate' and then i uninstalled it. now the check boxes within email and messages work as they should. I don't know if that's really a fix since i think rocker should control the 'profiles' and not just the ringer. o_o would be great to see that in a 'secret-overnight-update'...that and for the camera work faster. waiting 10 seconds to take another pic is somewhat of a fail...

So in laymen's terms. Is there a fix or app that makes your phone profile go to vibrate for everything. I mean if im in a meeting I want phone calls, emails, text, facebook notifications, etc. all go to vibrate?

I have phone, message, and sms all to vibrate and ring and when I get any message type it rings and vibrates. If I turn my ringer volume to vibrate it does for all types of messages. Today I was in a meeting and it vibrated every time I received and email or a text from my wife so I would take my phone in if its not working for you guys because everything works on mine.

I'm fighting with this same issue. When phone is in vibrate, SMS and Email don't vibrate. I have the settings inside each ap set to vibrate, but nothing. In your sound settings, how do you have your nitifications set up? Are they set to be the same at the ringtone, or seperate? There has to be some setting I'm overlooking. Thanks!

I am having the same problem. As many times as I have checked the notification settings, my phone WILL NOT vibrate with SMS or EMAIL. I don't know what to do. I do not want to install a program only to uninstall it to "fix" the system.

Ok, we are now post 2.0.1 update, and I am STILL having this issue. My SMS and emails will not vibrate. Anyone figured out a solution to this yet?? I find myself checking my phone every 5 minutes for messages when I'd much prefer to just have it vibrate when something new comes in.

Anyone find a resolution for those of us still not able to get our text (SMS) and emails to vibrate? If you're not having this problem, please ignore... HOWEVER, if you WERE PREVIOUSLY having this problem and have solved it.... PLEASE let me know. THANKS!!

I had the same problem and fix it by downloading sound manager from the market. I forgot exactly where I read it but its some kind of bug and having to do if you downloaded certain app. Anywho once you download apply the changes to vibrate in there and all your nofications should vibrate
