No video out on nexus 7?

Looks like there will be no HDMI out , no mhl and no USB OTG . I wonder if an update would change this although I don't think it has the mhl chip in the USB. But could a mhl adapter with built in chip work. Or maybe a special dock.

I know they had to cut corners too make it cheap but video out is a huge feature

I was bummed that there was no hdmi out too. But I realized I've never used the mhl capabilities on my phone and only tested hdmi out once on my transformer.

Eventually if you root the nexus there is a possibility of using a custom kernel that enables usable usb-otg.

There is hope that they will sell a dock for the pogo pins that has hdmi out. That might be a more elegant solution. Just would cost more...

Oh and wifi direct might be an option later...

USB otg missing is more of a worry for me. Think about it though with hdmi out how would they sell the nexus q?
