No vm?

I recently downloaded youmail for visual vm. Didn't like it and deleted it. But now I cannot check my vm. I touch the Verizon vm icon and it only calls my phone. I'm thinking the youmail app deleted my original app? I would do a hard reset but there is one vm recording I must keep, might need it in court, and I'm afraid if I hard reset it will erase that?
Can anyone please give me ideas on how to get my original vm app to work w/o deleting any saved vm?

It sounds like Youmail requires you to set up an account to make use of the service - did you deactivate the service before uninstalling the app?
You may want to check out their website http://www.youmail.com or send them email androidhelp@youmail.com to be sure you've reset everything back to normal.

Did you clear the cache and data before uninstalling it?

This is a little off-topic, but I'm using google voice for voicemail, on my phone, and it works well for me, and it's free. It's also easy to configure, once you have a google voice account (which has other free benefits, as well as cheap international phone calls *smile*).

After being on the phone a while with customer service, she found out that the youmail app was still attached to my phone even though I deleted it. She had to take that off and then my vm worked! So lesson learned, read all the permissions before downloading! She even gave me 2 free months of Verizon visual vm to see if I like that.

Thanks for following up with your solution! So many people don't provide that basic courtesy.
