no voicemail notification

I haven't been getting voicemail notifications in the status bar. finally figured it out.
go settings-application manager-voicemail app-check box to show notifications

for the above suggestion to work you would need to have an app installed. This wont work for the native voicemail. For native voice mail simply reboot the phone to solve the missing icon problem.

i had the same problem and tried everything , and nothing worked.. but then found this app and installed it on phone .. works great !!
