Nokia 6 - apps close on their own and phone locks up.

Recently bought a Nokia 6 with Android nougat. I noticed that when I run any games or other apps, the apps get stuck up and close on their own ( though they remain on n the list of minimised apps) and the phone locks on its own immediately. This time the phone doesn't unlock with fingerprint but requires the 9 point pattern for unlocking. Sometimes I lose my wallpaper too. Thanks in anticipation

Are all of these apps installed through the Google Play Store, or some other source?

Do you have any 3rd party battery-saver or "RAM booster" apps installed?

Most of the apps are the default apps that came preinstalled in the phone like Amazon and Google. The only apps I installed myself are WhatsApp, Facebook lite and cricbuzz. They are also from Google play store. I have not installed any battery saver or ram booster apps.

Could it be an issue with the hardware? All suggestions/advice are most welcome.

It might be a problem with the hardware or firmware. Does it happen in Safe Mode as well?

Is everything up to date (i.e., the system, as well as preinstalled system apps in the Play Store)? If so, then it's probably not worth further troubleshooting if you can return or exchange the phone.
