. Nomedia file keeps re-appearing

There is a .Nomedia file that keeps appearing on my internal storage root drive, even after i delete it. Does anyone know what causes it to keep coming back?

It prevents any app icons and other pictures and media from appearing in the gallery with your camera pictures and downloaded pictures.

It's there for a reason otherwise your gallery would be a huge mess of app icons and other junk.

But it stops music and movies in my 'downloads' folder from appearing in my gallery, which I dont like.

I feel like it started appearing recently, cause I've never had problems with my gallery in years...

Could it be an an app that keeps putting it there?

It's possible that one of your installed apps is placing it there every time you delete it but I doubt that you will be able to find out which app it is creating it.

We won't know what apps you have that could be causing this without you listing them. Someone on these forums may know once you list them.

If anyone has this same problem, I'd suggest installing an app called "File Observer" (unique app, thanks to the author!) and filter the events by "Extension" adding ".nomedia" as a filter. You'll see everytime a .nomedia file is created but not by which app. At least it helps to assume what app (or apps) could have created it by shutting a few apps down and trying others, and by comparing the creation time with your usage.
