Non OEM chargers compatible with Honor 8

I have a Lumsing 48W QC 3.0 standard USB and USB-C 3.0 dual port charger which works with my Honor 8. Went from 50% to 92% in about 20 minutes or so.

I have another Pleson USB-C charger as well which I will test drive on Monday and report back.

Here is another non OEM charger that does charge the Honor 8 rapidly - went from 57% to 100% in under 30 minutes. Don't know exact time as I was in a meeting but when I got back it was up to 100%. I think as long as the 9V/2A output format is available on the non OEM (decent brand) charger, it should charge the Honor 8 in a jiffy!

Not sure about the speed but my Nexus 6p charger worked just fine with the Honor 8.

Yeah, that is a bit perplexing. But it did charge the phone quickly and neither the phone nor the charger were hot so that is a good sign.

Im wondering if the Honor follows USB Power Delivery 2.0 standards like the 6p is reported to do? If so it should be pretty flexible on amps vs volts as long as the charger is compliant (USB Power Delivery 2.0) you could use anything under 100w. The phone and charger should "shake hands" and agree upon the correct current to send and accept. I'd do some more research on this and please dont take this post as a "just do it" when it comes to high wattage lol.

I thought so too but the darn thing did get charged really quickly so I am a bit perplexed.

I plugged the Pleson charger in a few minutes back. I had 90% charge already and Ampere was showing around 1390 to 1460 mAh at 4.46V.

I will try the Lumsing charger in a few minutes.

So the Lumsing charger via the USB-C port and a QC 2.0 charger via a USB to USB-C cable both charge around 850 mA whilst the Pleson charger was charging at quite a bit higher Amperage.

I will try it out when the charge is lower and report back to see if there is a difference when I am trying to charge from let's say 30% to 100%.
