Just a post wondering what you may be able to do if you cant get it on release day.

I am guessing that launch is going to be like the EVO and will sell out on day one. What did EVO owners (if you know any, or if you happen to be reading this) do in that case? How long did it take before you actually got one? How often do stores refresh?, etc.

Its looking like I am going to be getting this phone...but Boston isnt in 4G yet, and time/finances may not allow me to be ready until Nov.

Unfortunately, the Android train moves fast, and the more you wait, the more you will want the phone that comes out a month later. It's not like Apple where you can jump on at any time. When you make a decision, you NEED to get on as soon as possible. Android phone technology moves faster than anything I have ever seen and it's almost impossible to get the right phone before another comes out. If finances are a problem, that's completely understandable, but just be ready to see something else rumored for December or January. Just giving you a heads up.

Yeah, Im OK with the tech...I feel that whatever could come out wont really sway me too much...just wanted an Android, on Sprint, with a keyboard and a processor capable of handling Froyo/Gbread.

Luckily for you, Sprint doesn't seem to have anything coming out for maybe 4-6 months, so you'll probably be fine with the Samsung Epic 4g.

The epic 4g will be more then enough for gingerbread and froyo. Im assuming there may be a new release around Christmas time but then again thats just an assumption. Honestly I dont think there will be anything earth shattering that will come out until well into next year that will totally dethrone the evo and epic.

Agreed. Sprint will probably release a low-end Android device, but nothing huge.

BTW, 666th post! I hope I don't jinx the Epic!

I was one of the unlucky ones who could not get the Evo on launch day (sold out). Fortunately, I saw the story on Android Central that the Evo was once again available online from Sprint. I quickly ordered it. Sure enough it sold out that same day again. I received the phone shortly thereafter. It was sold out for months after that.
