This dumb phone keeps locking up. I try to make a call and it doesn't respond. Then I hit the number again and then it conferences two calls. It has 2.1 version on it. Is there a fix? I keep hearing about rooting. I really am an idiot on this. What in the world does this mean? Will it wipe my phone if I do it? How do I do it?

there's a memory leak in one or more of the Sprint-included apps. I suggest you create a shortcut on your phone "desktop" to the Settings > Applications > Running Services widget. Then, get in the habit of referencing this tool to see if you still have Available Memory. if not, kill Sprint TV and/or CM_Attendant. And if killing those doesn't bring back your available memory, restart the phone.

Even with this knowledge of what's wrong, I still have to restart my phone every 3 or 4 days.
