Noob here

I am noob to the whole optimus, I myself have a rooted thunderbolt, and previous a rooted incredible. I was explaining the benefits to my uncle about the whole rooting process and he decided he wanted to give it a go. I normally float around on xda and android forums, but the write up I found on here was excellent. However I for some reason cant get in to any other recovery beside stock. I will press on however and together Im sure we can get this thing rooted! any tips would be great.

If any one has any ?'s about htc products or verizon Im very knowledgeable.
