noob intro

Hi all!
New to boards but not android. Have experience with Motorola(nothing exceptional...droid was rather slow) samsung(galaxy was often confused and seemed slow to switch applications...no Cpu temp sensor and frequent crash) and htc(loved the inspire performance and 8mp camera but not the fact that At&t blocked apps from outside or unknown sources).

So being from Alaska my options as far as Providers is limited. I currently have an htc merge and while its fast experience tells me there's better hardware and Providers. I'm moving to southern CA north of LA. My question is two-fold: which provider is the best in that area and which phones are fastest and most reliable?

Iphone and at&t not options. Thanks in advance for taking time to share experience and opinions.

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest going to Verizon and picking up a Galaxy Nexus or a Samsung Galaxy SIII.

I have the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx (on Verizon), which is an exceptional phone. Great reception, fast performance, and of course, killer battery. Verizon generally beats out other providers throughout the country for call quality and customer service, but not necessarily by much.
