[Noob] Is it possible to hack the radio firmware to work with Verizon's 700mhz LTE?

Hello all.

I have the SPH-L710, but would like to switch that over to my Verizon plan with unlimited data. Verizon will have 4G LTE coverage in my area later this month. I have a friend who works for Verizon so I'm fairly confident I can get it switched. The LTE is the only thing holding me back.

So is the radio something that can be switched with software, or is it a hardware only thing?

Hardware only my friend... Chip is designed to work on a certain frequency and if it was a simple software hack to change LTE frequencies then everyone would be doing it.

Hmm I'd trade the sprint gs3 for a Verizon gs3 on craigslist just be sure to meet the person you're trading to in person.
