Last night I attempted to root my EVO via SuperoneClick. During the process (at step#5, waiting on device...) we had an electrical glitch (i.e. quick outage and recovery). This "glitch" caused my computer to shutdown. Now my EVO is stuck in bootloop. I get the Sprint 4G animation loop....HELP Please...

Phone info is as follows:
Locked (oow)
HBOOT 2.18.0001
Supersonic EVT3 SHIP S-ON
MICROP-041f
Touch Panel-ATMEL224_16ab
Radio-2.15.00.12.19

I have downloaded the Amon recovery PC39img.zip to sd (via computer) and tried this but only get the RED TRIANGLE!
Has my phone been bricked?:(

Any and all help appreciated!!

can you get into the stock recovery??

Pull the battery to get it turned off...

Turn on your device with ?volume down? pressed and select ?Recovery?
When the exclamation mark appears, press and hold ?volume up? then press ?power?

Let me know...

Still have sd card with amon PC36img.zip on it in phone....
Am able to get to a recovery screen by following your directions. This is what I get...

BLUE TEXT:
Reboot system now
Apply update from sdcard
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition

Then, have text in YELLOW as follows:
E: Can't open/cache/recovery/command
E: failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)
E: failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)
E: can't mount /data/data/recovery/log
E: can't open /data/data/recovery/log

NOTE: could not copy the PC36img.zip to my phones "original" sd card that has all of this info on it. When I tried, my computer said that the sd card was "locked". So, had to copy the PC36img.zip to a new (blank) sd card.

Chose "Apply update from SD card" but.....no help.

Still in boot loop :(

Any suggestions on what to do next? Anyone?

Did a little more research and found that my SD card may be the problem so.....did the following:
1.RE-formated sd card and recopied PC36img.zip to it via computer
2.Put card into phone and booted into bootloader (volume down + power)
3. HBOOT recognized it but gives me the following when trying to load the image:
SD Checking...
Loading...[PC36DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PC36DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PC36IMG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PC36.IMG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!

Am able to get back into recovery by using pressing and holding ‘volume up’ then press ‘power’ when the Recovery red exclamation mark appears. Now I get this:
BLUE TEXT:
Roboot system now
Apply update from sdcard
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition

Then in YELLOW TEXT:
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /data/data/recovery/log
E: Can't open /data/data/recovery/log

Any suggestions on where to go from here????

Tried Apply update from sd card again and still not fixed...

Also, took out battery and powered on into Hboot:
Had camera handy and was able to get this info on HBOOT:
SD Checking...
Loading...[PC36DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PC36DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PC36IMG.zip]
Checking....[PC36DIAG.zip]

then it goes straight to the HBOOT menu with:
FASTBOOT, etc.

Really would appreciate some assistance on this.....

That's the stock recovery. Have you unlocked your device with HTCDev? The next thing you need to do is flash a custom recovery through fastboot. What instructions are you following?

Captain...

I haven't unlocked phone with HTCDev yet.....have been attempting all day to download the necessary files to do so. Looks like the electrical interruption might have also messed up my laptop cause it keeps loosing my wifi internet connection and I have to start my downloads (large ones) all over again.

I am using the following instructions: [Revised] Rooting Gingerbread 2.3.5 Dummies Guide provided to me by ocnbrz on another android forum.

Looks like it might be tomorrow before I can attempt the unlock as I am still..................attempting to download the necessary files.

I used simons utility to unlock bootloader it says its for htc desire but will work for evos to its completly automated it works and easier then htc dev

Wow, I won't lie, did not know about the stock recovery....wow, learn something new everyday. Any who, that .zip file you keep trying to get read, you need to name it EXACTLY AS YOUR PHONE SEARCHES FOR IT. Hope that helps.
