Noob with a Thunderbolt and a Kindle Fire

Hello all. Just joined up to learn how to root my thunderbolt so I can use the wifi for my KF. Also want to see what kind of things I can do with each of these devices to make them more powerful and user friendly. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
