Noobee screw up! help please!

Ok, after much research to get rid of bing and that god awful voice command that fascinate comes with, I rooted my phone and unistalled both the voice and bing.

I now have google and voice prompt, but it does not link with my contacts, no matter what I say, it goes into a search.
What did I screw up?

What build are you running? EB01? If so, you didn't screw anything up. That's just an issue of this build. I listed it in the EB01 fact post. Now if you're running an official OTA build, can you tell us the exact files you got rid of? Did you delete or move them?

P.S. what happened to your Optimus?

I installed superuser and Titanium back, i uninstalled bing, voice and other junk

I never flashed EA28, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had the voice search issue you're describing. Was it working with EA28 before you removed those files? Just to be clear, are you talking about an issue where you do a voice search, say a contacts name, and it instead does a web search? That's definitely an EB01 problem too, so flashing won't help, unless one of the Supercleans fixes it.

go with superclean 2.4. its froyo and runs great. its debloated as well.

yes, the voice did work before I uninstalled it. I hated it bad, no matter what I said to it " Call joe " , Did you say call Peter? . It almost found its way out the car window!

So How do I do the superclean 2.4?

There's a sticky in the hacks sub forum on it. SC is great, but before you flash anything, make sure you understand what the end result will be. SC is completely stripped of Touchwiz and the carrier bloat, with the option of adding some of it back in. The "official" leaks have everything, but are pre rooted, with the option of deleting the bloat you don't want, but not TW all together.

GunnerMike, did Adrynalyne actually fix the voice search/contacts issue in his SC?

Touchwiz is the phone's user interface or "theme" if you will (home screens, icons, wallpapers, etc.) I find it too derivative of the iPhone's look, and a bit slow to respond, compared to the superclean rom's out there.

I think there are screenshots of other options available, if you look at the stickies in this forum.

if you have to ask, non-voodoo. once you get comfortable with what you doing and learn a little more, then give voodoo a try.

CWM is clockworkmod recovery (AKA recovery, AKA red cwm.) It is what you use to flash new ROMs, themes, add-ons, etc. Here is some more helpful reading on that:
