Nook CM7 Mac Root Failing to Install

Hi,

I have tried to put CM7 onto my Nook with 2 different SD cards. Both get to the same point, when I try to install the zip file from the SD card onto the Nook I am getting the error E: Can't open /sdcard/cm7.zip

I downloaded the files from my mac.

Any help would be great.

I too use a mac and had issues a long while ago. When downloading any kind of zip file, Safari automatically decompresses and opens the zip file. You can compress the file again into a zip, but it will not work on the nook. You have to change your settings so that when you download compressed files, they do not automatically open.

Now, I will say I never got an error message like you have, I just got installation aborted. So, this may not be helpful to you, but worth a shot.

To change this settings, under the safari, click preferences, and under the general tab, uncheck the box that says open "safe" files after downloading.

I switched to using Firefox, no such issues.
