Nook Color Through Sprint HotSpot (Evo Shift)

Has anyone successfully done this? I get it to connect and can use the web on the Nook Color, but I can't use Barnes & Noble's Shop on the Nook Color. It simply freezes. The Nook Color is running version 1.2.0 of the software and the brand new Shift is running Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread?). Barnes and Noble is no help because they claim that it's a router problem on the Shift. But that doesn't make sense to me because I don't understand why I'd be able to search the Web from the Nook but not use Barnes & Noble's own app. How do I even investigate/change the router on the Shift? Is that even possible?

I had a very similar problem with the hotspot on my Optimus S from Sprint. After days of trying to find a solution, I was advised by a Sprint engineer that it was an IPSec issue with the hotspot feature of the phone. For some reason, Sprint does not support IPSec connections through the hotspot. That is the best answer I could find. Not sure how valid it is, but it would make sense due to other related VPN issues I experience when using my hotspot.
