Nord VPN offer

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I just tried to take advantage to the two year Nord VPN subscription through AC Digital Offers.

First, the savings are NOT what is stated in the posting because the vendor doesn't charge anywhere near that much. You end of saving around 9 dollars not hundreds.

Worst of all, the after purchase emailed activation instructions were wrong so I ended up paying twice, once through AC and once directly to Nord.

I contacted both and am awaiting a reply about how this will be fixed. Just beware if you want to buy this through AC. Even the small savings is nice but this hassle sure isn't.

I think they mean hundreds off the normal price. The AC deal still cuts a tad off the price versus buying directly from NordVPN but TBH.. all these deals usually do this. Even Nord themselves show a higher price for 2 years but give it to you for less as a deal. The best deal I got was 3 years for 90 bucks from Nord directly. Not sure if that deal is still going on.

It's a bit deceptive to say you're saving hundreds because no one pays anything close to that full price number.

I'm happy with any discount. I just wish they would fix their instructions and give me one of my two payments back.

Hopefully someone will respond tomorrow.

Well I would take it up more so with the companies then. They are simply advertising what all the companies do. Go to look at NordVPN directly and click "Pricing" -- Go to Privateinternetaccess.com go check their pricing -- Go to (insert VPN here) and check their pricing. It really isn't deceptive just more so advertising and they definitely aren't the first to do this nor will they be the last. You actually do save versus paying month-to-month.

They all show a lot more for the price and they cut it down for yearly deals. Most aren't lying and are simply stating you save more when you buy more up front. This isn't any different then most things you buy in bulk TBH. For example ... Google charges monthly for 100 GB of drive storage. If I pre-pay 1 year of drive storage (versus monthly) it costs me $20 versus $24. That is on the smaller scale but pre-paying more upfront usually warrants a discount.

The double payment thing is definitely an error in billing. It can happen. It definitely sucks when it does but I can say with confidence that wasn't intended.

It wasn't double billing. AC provided incorrect information about the process needed to register with the vendor. That's all. I just posted to let other people be aware of the problem
