Norton Mobile Security

Not needed. Android runs on Linux. There are very few viruses out there for Linux. Unless you're downloading things you shouldn't be (like pirated material or bad apps) ..then you are fine.

I personally do not feel the need to download extra apps as I know I'm smart enough to not click on random links/emails and download things..

If it has "Norton" in the name, I'd stay away from it (Don't ask). I use "Lookout," it's highly rated.

I'm using it to block calls. It also blocks text messages. Blocks anything really.

Not using it as an Antivirus.

I tried the beta. It blocked all incoming calls from numbers not in my address book on my Fascinate. And yes, I had the settings correct. It also shut my ringer off on all calls. Maybe the beta was bad, and the new version is better. However, I am not willing to find out. I now use NetQuin. Light weight, does more than Lookout, and also free.

i use lookout as well. they are pretty up to par and they have the gps tracking. thats the main reason i use it. not for antivirus

I do NOT use it, never have used Norton, Norton is a PIG on desktops I can't imagine how it would be on a smart phone.

+1 on the Linux.. At home I run Linux for the past 6 years (Mandriva KDE) hardware router for firewall, my Wifi WPA2 encrypted . Haven't had any virus or problems. Android is Linux under the hood.....nuff said.
On my wifes Windows pc I installed NOD32/ combined with windows security essentials she is running fine. ( no matter how often i remind her she still sometimes clicks on random links in e-mails..)

No security software makes up for common sense by the user.
never operate on your admin log in, always create a separate daily user account
Scan all files before downloading /uploading them, I only download attachments from known sources or scan on desktop 1st.

I do use Norton on my laptop. I have used Norton for years and like it. But I don't need it on my TB. I have Lookout as well.
