Is the fact that there is not one thread of someone who ran out to purchase this phone (as of yet) an indication that this phone is a bust. I remember when my Droid X came out there were multiple post of "just got mine". I want to get a 4G phone bad but it appears that Verizon is 0-3 so far. I'm patiently waiting for the Bionic now I guess.

I think Bing scared a lot of people from this phone, and also lacking more the 512 ram...I am still somewhat interested in it though....

I feel it’s necessary to make a choice quick. VZW talk is heating up that they will be introducing tiered pricing this summer. Some people consider Memorial day the start of summer. Just saying. They may wait until the 'free trial period' is over on the hotspot, who knows. Anyway, I'm not risking it and I feel the need to secure LTE unlimited even if not one of the 3 LTE’s has exactly everything I want in one phone. Bad battery life on one, Better battery on the next one but choppy browsing, then another with 16gb on board and Netflix but smaller card, thicker unit with again poor talk time and Bing apps. What’s a customer to do. One things for sure though, I’m securing my Unlimited data plan this weekend and move on to a better phone later if I need to.

I feel the same way, I just don't know which way to go...Now that the Charge has been rooted, that may yield better results. Does anyone know if the Revo has an unlocked bootloader?

Right there with ya. Picking up the Revolution or Charge this weekend as well. As you stated, if something else far better comes out, I'll just sell what I have and lose a bit buying the phone for retail price.

I have two phone lines eligible for upgrades. I'm trying to beat the tiered pricing also. I thought the Bionic would be out by now. The LG doesn't look to bad. The 5 vs. 8 MB camera doesn't bother me, I just haven't heard enough positive things about the phone. And the fact that it seems that no one is buying them (Bing or not) makes me a little nervous. The thunderbolt appears buggy with bad battery life. The Charge has little memory and bad internet performance. All that leaves is the LG (maybe?).

Well, I just got back from the VZW store after stopping by on my lunch hour.

I gotta say, I was not overly impressed.

The screen seems a little drab. After turning off the auto brightness and boosting it up to about 80% it looked pretty good, but it?s not going to win too many awards imo.

The black backing looks *much* better than the silver in the early CES pictures, but even still it just seems to be a massively large phone. Putting it side-by-side with the Tbolt next to it, they size up about the same, but the Tbolt just looks a lot less massive when just looking at them separately.

Also, the power button seemed awfully small and not easy to reach with your thumb when ?one-handing.?

One thing I noticed right off the bat, there are two little chrome covered nubs that flank the sides of the LED flash on the back, they protrude out from the back ever so slightly, and they already had visible brassing/wearing away of the chrome paint to reveal the grey plastic underneath. That would drive me crazy.

Uhh? I would really like to get a 4G phone before the lockout, but I think being saddled with a phone I don?t like would be worse than being saddled with 3G in lieu of 4G.

FWIW, the Xperia play is kind of neat, but there?s just too much going on all over that phone to make me want to whip it out and take a call with colleagues around, even without sliding out the controller. Unfortunately, every game I tried to play either complained about not having an SD card inserted, or demanded you to log into VZW Market to pay/download additional content. Good job Verizon, not going to sell too many of them when people can?t even try them out in store.

I just got back as well. I loved the phone. I thought the screen was great, the side covers were not protruding on the model I held. Everything was very responsive. The organisable app drawer is neat and pinch to zoom to collapse and un collapse the categories is very nice. The custom UI is not as intrusive as Touchwiz, the gallery, music, camera etc are very very lightly themed. Even on a dead battery (the girl said they forgot to charge them overnight) it beat the TB sitting right next to it in every bench mark I ran. It also got a 38 fps on nenemark, camera and video recording seemed smooth as well. The only reason I didnt walk out with one is Im not eligible until Sept.

sounds interesting, I guess I will have to look and play...

Right after I read this OP in this thread I started the new thread about getting my Revo today. I have owned a lot of phones over the last year, all of them smartphones each had something that I wanted and I can say I see no complaints with the phone. Now I have to root it yet, get the bloatware out, but people need to stop whining about BING, yeah it sucks, but it wasn't the deciding factor to not buy it or to buy it. It was a solid Android phone overall and I know I could put ALL of my Google apps on it and be happy, which is what I will do.

Gingerbread?

I wonder how long it will be till it gets Gingerbread.
I'm sitting on my X patiently waiting for the update but also sitting on my hands trying not to jump the gun on this phone.
Does anyone have experience on the frequency of updates with LG?
